OUR WORLD VS THEIR WORLD

Another new year, another Chinese New Year!

It's the time for cookies, reunion dinners and of course; ANGPAOS! Reunion dinners are often filled with aunties asking about the current happenings of your life, from exam results to relationship status, marriage and even the talk about having kids! Reunion dinners sometimes feels too crowded and unimportant but is it truly so?

This is probably an overused expression, but as we're growing, our we often forget that our parents are growing old as well.

We're so busy having fun and enjoying the leisures of life at the expense of our parents' time, money and effort. We're constantly expanding our social circles, and exploring more of the world while realising that the world is enormous with various attractions to offer. However, little do we know that our return home means the world to our parents.

Although Asian parents' form of love is always in the form of non stop nagging, scolding, rice cooking and meat thawing, it is an undeniable fact that they still love us as much as every other parent.

Each reunion dinner is immensely important to them as it is one of the rare occasions where children who are all busy with their own hectic lives return and are together as a family.

It's not Cainis New Year if there's no Ni (YOU)!

Go home kids! Your parents are waiting!
